These are all the items you will need:
1. NEWSPAPER
2. SHALLOW BOWL TO POUR THE ALCOHOL IN
3.RUBBING ALCOHOL
4.A CLEAR BASE/ TOP COAT NAIL POLISH
5.GRAY OR ANY LIGHT COLOR NAIL POLISH
Go ahead and cut out or rip out 10 small pieces of the newspaper.
Whatever section of the paper you want just make sure the pieces cut are big enough to cover your entire nail.
First paint your nails with a protective top coat of any clear nail polish of your choice.
Here I used Sally Hansen natural shine instant nail finish as my top coat.
I purchased it from Target for like $1.99
Second paint your nail Gray or any Light color of your choice. I only did one coat.
I choose NYX girls nail polish in the shade perfectly gray.
I purchased it from my local beauty supply store for $0.99
Third pour your rubbing alcohol into your container, then take one of your pre-cut pieces of newspaper and place it into your shallow bowl just long enough to get the newspaper wet. Take the newspaper out then press whatever side you want onto your nail kind of hard for about 15 seconds and lift.
**** Make sure your nail are completely dry before doing this step so it doesn't smudge
Please excuse the nail polish on my cuticles lol I am not a professional |
Add a top coat of your choice, I used RUSH 60 second high speed top Coat. I purchased it from Sallys beauty supply store for about $6.99 It is worth it because it does dry super turbo fast and make the nail finish really really shiny.
****You have to add a top coat or the newspaper print will rub off as soon as you wash your hands
Now if you made a oppsie like I did just use a cotton swab/ q tip and dip it in nail polish remover to clean up any mistakes. Ie nail polish on your cuticle like I did. Just be really careful not to let the q tip touch the nail polish on your nail.
All cleaned up and here is the finished project |
Here you have it NEWSPAPER NAILS
I hope you like my version

That look is SICK! I love the idea. Are your nails natural or do you have acrylics or gels? Want to see if it'll hold on natural nails.
